Yay! My Sister finally got a nail stamp kit. Of course, what is the first thing she paints? My favorite - Dragons! or what look like dragons to me, using plate # m21. Love IT!!!
Teal Tree
It had been a while since I painted my nails. Kinda a mix between painters block and pneumonia. While at my Ma's house, I suddenly had the urge to paint... I copied the pattern off of an image I saw on Pinterest... I used Orly Balimos as the base coat and hand painted the white and stuck on a little bling.... although you can't quite see the jewels...
Happy Easter!
My sister wanted me to paint her nails for Easter when we got together over the weekend. She saw a post on her FB friend's page which was a simple picture of green grass with Easter Eggs laying in the grass. It was such an awesome simple design that just had to be done.
I had done my nails before I went down for the weekend. I used my favorite polish & stamped a green flower icon with my cool stamp kit.

My sister had been plaid.
Rainbow
I hadn't been feeling well so I tried a simple/plain nail polish for St. Patrick's day. I later covered it with a gold crackle paint.
Pampering
I had the great opportunity to paint my cousins nails after she had undergone an invasive inutero surgery to help her unborn baby.
SPRING!
I am so ready for Spring to start! I've been a little busy & I haven't been online to post so I've got quite a collection for this blog...
My start of Spring. I've got one hand with leaves and the other is a simple french tip. |
My Niece had been dying to try water marble nail art... Finally got her chance. |
My beeeeeeezzzzz.....It is hard not to notice the bees flying around my Apricot Blossoms... |
My Cherry Blossoms. |

Love the added flowers! |
My Sister's Design. This is sooo pretty, I'm going to have to have my sister paint my nails this way one day... |
Valentines Day
A beating heart for my Valentine! I saw a similar version to this one, only it had a red base & pink heart. Since I'm not a fan of red, I used a glittery black base with my red heart.
Splat!
I wanted to have a little fun with my stamping kit.
Lately my nails have been really strong. There have been many times where they should have broken, but they haven't, opening the dryer door, closing the car door... I would like to guess and say it is because I have been using a nail hardner base coat & 3 top coats on all of my polish creations. Not only have my nails been strong, the polish has been lasting me for a week. I don't have any chips in my paint, only 1 or 2 worn down spots where the polish was thin. I'm curious if anyone else has had any success with their nails & the reasons why...

Stamps!
Yay, I finally recieved my "Special Polish" in the mail! Oh what fun! This here is plate m64 with Silver Konad special polish.
A Little Abstract
the Cosmos
Shooting for the stars in this design. At a Model Rocket competition, my Sister asked for an idea to paint Ma's nails. I had looked for some sort of rockets in mind, & found one that looked like the stars, commets, & rockets flying around.
Vines
A lot of what my Sister & I are doing is searching around for cool nail designs & turning them around to suit our own style.
This one my Sis liked had a glitter pink for a base & she changed it up to have a crackle base. I really like how my Sis made the dots black where in the original photo from another site was a very light pink, almost unnoticeable.

I tried to copy my Sis & Ma's nails but I didn't have any green crackle. My vine was made using Konad stamp plate m22. |
Winter Forest
Over the holiday break, I had the pleasure of painting my Ma's nails. Loved the idea she picked out. The image we copied from was stamped, of course we didn't have stamps at the time, so I practiced on paper & was able to make it onto her nails. I still loved the end results.
Fench Tip w/ Polka Dots & Flower,
My Ma's nails painted by my sister. I'm going to have to copy this when I get my stamp kit working...
Purple and Green Water Marble Nails
At first, I was trying to make my new nail stamp kit work. I didn't get any of the special thick gooey polish that it recomends, & I even tried to make my own thick polish by adding Xanthan Gum, but that still didn't work to my liking... I'm going to put that off until I get to a town that sells it.
So, I decided I would once again try Water Marble Nail Art. My attempts in the past have all failed. I would have trouble getting the polish to spread out & float on the the water, then once I had my rings, the polish would dry before I could drag my toothpick through the polish/water to create designs. I did a little research on how to get it to work & one major theme throughout was that the water temperature needed to be around room temperature... some even said the water needed to be warm - 72°F... I put 2 & 2 together and decided everything needs to be around 72°F, the water, nail polish, even the air around me... being one who likes a cold house, I set up an electric space heater near my work area, microwaved a half bottle of water for 30 seconds & set it in my my bag of polishes I was going to use, just for a little bit. I have an old glass, but sturdy candle holder which I don't use since I have my sensey wax light. I even set it before the space heater to make sure it wouldn't cool down my water too fast.
I'm not going to get into detail about the process on how to do the nails, for that, search for a video on youTube.
And the nail party continues...
Over the last several months painting our nails to follow along with the major holidays was quite fun. Now with the New Year ahead, anything goes.
My sister started off with a simple yet colorful french tip.
